Volunteer opportunities

Our broad range of programs and services means that you can find the volunteer position that meets your interests, skills, and background. Please note that we are unable to accommodate court-ordered community service.

Child Life volunteer - assist Child Life specialists by providing recreational activities to hospitalized patients, helping them feel more comfortable in a scary or unfamiliar environment.

Teen volunteer - lend a hand at the hospital for eight weeks during the summer.

Gift Shop volunteer - help visitors, run the cash register, deliver flowers to patients, and stock the shelves at the Gift Shop.

Pet Therapy volunteer - bring your four-legged friend to the hospital, deliver joy and comfort to patients, families, and visitors.

Cuddler - comfort babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) by holding and rocking them. Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts available Monday through Friday.

Family greeter - support families who are new by helping them locate resources. Morning and afternoon shifts available seven days a week.

Family Resource Center volunteer - help center visitors take advantage of the center’s computers and printer, library, touch screen directory, and other amenities. Morning and afternoon shifts available Monday through Friday.

Ronald McDonald Family Room volunteer - provide coffee, snacks, coloring books, and other donations to families in the Children’s Hospital (the Ronald McDonald Family Room or cart) or the waiting room near the NICU at the Medical Center. Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts available seven days a week.
