Thomas J. Weida, M.D.
Thomas Weida, M.D., F.A.A.F.P., was raised in the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania area. He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Lehigh University, and Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital in Philadelphia. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Lancaster General Hospital. After residency, he was in private practice in Lancaster County for thirteen years. At Penn State Hershey, Dr. Weida currently serves as the Medical Director for Information Technology. He also serves as head of the Penn State College of Medicine Waldhausen Society, organized to teach clinical skills and advise medical students. Dr. Weida is a former Speaker and Vice Speaker of the American Academy of Family Physicians' (AAFP) Congress of Delegates and has served on the AAFP Board of Directors for many years. Dr. Weida is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, has a certificate of added qualification in Geriatrics, and is an AAFP Fellow. He currently serves as AAFP representative to the American Medical Association (AMA) Relative Value Update Committee, is on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and is an alternate delegate to the AMA House of Delegates.
