Meeting the Specialized Needs of Seniors
The fastest-growing demographic in health care today is patients 65 and older. To respond to this need, Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center established the Geriatric Clinic, where we evaluate, diagnose, and treat health conditions common to seniors.
Our team provides older patients with personalized care for medical and social issues that can affect independence and quality of life. We supplement — but don’t replace — treatment provided by a primary care doctor.
Compassionate Care From a Geriatrics Expert
Our clinic is staffed by Noel Ballentine, MD, a board-certified geriatrician with more than 30 years of research and experience in geriatrics and internal medicine. In addition to Dr. Ballentine’s clinical work, he has written extensively on the medical and social challenges facing older people.
Dr. Ballentine’s honors and recognition include:
- Best Doctors in America 2016-2016
- Member of the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Task Force for Elder Mistreatment and Fraud
- Presenting to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Attorney General’s Task Force on Domestic Violence
- Best Geriatricians 2016
Our clinic is part of the Division of General Internal Medicine, which provides wide-ranging primary care for adults, from preventive health services to the management of chronic conditions.
