The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center offers an academic program with an ACGME-approved obstetrics and gynecology residency and a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship.

In addition, the Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery established an AAGL-approved minimally invasive gynecologic surgery fellowship in 2010.

Residency

The ACGME-accredited four-year OB/GYN Residency is a university-based, comprehensive program. Residents are exposed to the full range of obstetric and gynecologic subspecialties under the supervision of 21 full-time faculty and six part-time faculty members committed to resident education.

Fellowships

The Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship's training takes place at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center College of Medicine, the maternal transport center for Central Pennsylvania. Our Labor and Delivery Unit is state-of-the-art; our ultrasound unit consists of top of the line equipment. We have three sonographers operating three rooms with an expected annual volume of nearly 8,000 scans. Specialty rotations and electives are available. In addition to our clinical strength, resources for basic and clinical science research are significant. We are the only unit in central Pennsylvania to have four faculty certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).

The Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship is a two-year surgical fellowship structured to ensure adequate time in all aspects of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery and female pelvic surgery.
