Mitchell Kresch, MD, graduated summa cum laude with distinction in biology from Boston University and graduated from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed a pediatric internship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and served as a commissioned officer in the Public Health Service. Dr. Kresch completed his Pediatric Residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, spent one year as chief resident and then completed his neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at Yale University.

Dr. Kresch was previously the director of the Perinatal Research Laboratory in the Division of Neonatology at the University of Connecticut Health Center, where his funded research focused on the molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating the development of surfactant trafficking in type II alveolar cells. He has mentored numerous residents and fellows, many of whom have gone on to successful academic careers.

Dr. Kresch’s interests are in newborn respiratory care, community outreach in central Pennsylvania, and neonatal quality improvement. He is director of neonatal transport services, and the director of neonatal quality improvement. Dr. Kresch has published 37 original articles, invited reviews, and book chapters.
