If you have questions about our Pharmacy Residency, email or call

In 1985, Penn State Health established a one-year Pharmacy Practice Residency — a challenging program. With an emphasis on evidence-based pharmacotherapy recommendations, it extends a pharmacist’s training to all aspects of health-system pharmacy practice. It has also been designed to offer flexibility to meet the needs of the individual resident. We encourage you to develop areas of interest and expertise in pharmacy practice.

We offer tomorrow's practitioners a broad variety of educational opportunities and experiences in medicine, critical care, pediatrics, infectious diseases, oncology, transplant, cardiology, ambulatory care, emergency medicine and more.

Pharmacy Residency

The Pharmacy Department is proud of the program’s success and of the accomplishments of its residents. Our entire department participates in training, enabling the program to achieve a high level of recognition for excellence.

Pharmacy Continuing Education

The Pharmacy Department at Penn State Health is committed to furthering the development of our pharmacy team’s knowledge through continuing education programs and membership in various local, state and national professional associations.

Pharmacists and trainees frequently facilitate drug education of other health care disciplines by lecturing at seminars and in-services at Hershey Medical Center and throughout the community.

The pharmacy department also provides continuing education programs biweekly at multiple times of day to ensure maximum attendance. Accredited Continuing Pharmacy Education (ACPE) is provided.
